Rotors for XC and SuperSonic (SS) MAS Spinners

4 mm, 5 mm, and 7 mm

1. Thick wall rotors and GFT or Torlon caps are provided for fastest spinning and ease in packing.  Thin wall rotors and caps are available for maximum signal to noise. The maximum speed of thin wall rotors is about 50% the maximum speed of thick wall rotors. Long caps are provided for highest homogeneity and rf field strength.

2. For XC probes (beginning in 2000) XC "Slow MAS" is provided for stable very slow spinning of tissues, liquids, and CC by a change in "nozzle caps" only. The same turbine caps are used. All choices of XC rotors and caps may be used with slow spin nozzle caps. A 50% reduction in maximum spinning speeds should be expected for each type. See our XC Probes  page for more information.

 

3. Probes ordered for slow or fast only can be upgraded to do both .

4. XC, DI, SuperSonic, High Speed, and Standard accessories are not interchangeable unless specified. If unsure about correct supplies, contact us with the probe DSI-serial number and we can help. Please refer to rotor home page for materials information.

Note 1: We have also made changes in 4 and 5 mm XC and SS turbine caps to further improve spinning stability. The XC/SS thick wall Kel-F caps and XC/SS thin wall rotor caps of all materials will have 7 flutes.

Note 2: New parts have been introduced. The XC4 extended VT caps will not have an axial screw. Contact the Doty Scientific sales staff for questions or to order these parts.
